Stay Hydrated

5 REASONS TO STAY HYDRATED

Water accounts for about 60 percent of your body, and is essential to every cell. There are been a lot of research done about the effect that water has on not only your brain but on your body. Here are five ways that staying hydrated benefits your body.

1. Improve physical performance.

During physical activity, our bodies use up a lot of water, so stay hydrated before, during, and after exercise. Staying hydrated helps to protect your body from harm, and helps you perform better. Proper hydration can reduce fatigue, improve endurance, lower your maximum heart rate, and more. Staying hydrated can also lessen your soreness after an intense workout.

2. Help you to lose weight.

If you're having trouble loosing weight, and have tried almost everything and nothing works, ask yourself how much water you drink a day. Increasing your water intake may help you reach your goal. Studies show that people who are on diets loose more weight when they also increase their water intake.

3. Boost your mood.

When you drink more water, you may improve your cognitive performance. Several studies have shown that people drinking water during cognitive tasks performed much better than those people who did not drink water during the tasks. These results have been found in both adults and children. Even mild dehydrations can impair cognitive function in the short term. SO next time you need to focus, take a test, or use all of your brainpower, keep a glass of water next to you and keep sipping.
P.S. if you are not a water drinker, like me, it helps to drink water with a straw! Or even put lemon in your water!

4. Prevent headaches

Water deprivation is a very common cause of headache. In most cases, rehydrating can provide relief from a headache. For some people dehydration can also trigger a migraine, so be sure to keep your water intake regular if you are prone to getting migraines or headaches. (Even if you don't get migraines or headaches, drink water to prevent that from happening).

5. Healthier skin

Is your skin always dry? Do you have to constantly moisturize yet minutes later your skin is back to being super dry? This is most probably because you are dehydrated! Drinking water keeps your skin hydrated and prevents you from going through multiple different moisturizers. Before you go and buy a different bran of moisturizer increase your intake of water!

Need help drinking more water? Keep track of your water intake by measuring your progress with a cup or water bottle placed in a spot you will see it throughout the day. Set goals for yourself at time points throughout the day to make sure you are drinking enough! Lastly, always remember, DON'T QUIT!
